Could you use some guidance?
It’s a good idea to ask for input, wisdom and perspective. Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed. (Proverbs 15:22)
Keep in mind, the best advisors are the ones who remind you to pay attention to the Guide within you.
The “Spirit” is like a mysterious inner compass, beacon, nudge. As the Scriptures put it, “the love of God has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us” (Romans 5:5). This Spirit is referred to as an “advocate” (John 14:16).
Richard Rohr says this:
“The Spirit is entirely for us, more than we are for ourselves, it seems. She speaks in our favor against the negative voices that judge and condemn us. This gives us all such hope—now we do not have to do life all by ourselves, or even do life perfectly ‘right.’ Our life will be ‘done unto us,’ just as happened with Mary (see Luke 1:38).”
Trust the guidance. Follow the Star. Listen for the sleigh bells this Christmas! You’re a journey into the great unknown, but it will be good and you will be guided.
Regardless of how your current circumstances seem on the surface this season, God is with you, and the Spirit within you is FOR YOU.
