“Do one thing every day that scares you.” –Mary Schmich
“Do not be afraid” is one of the most commonly repeated phrases in all of the Bible. It’s less about experiencing the feeling of fear. Our brains are hard-wired to protect us from danger. The intent of the message is more about the victimization of fear. Surrendering to it. Stopping because of it. Steering clear because of fear. That’s what we want to avoid.
How do we practice being courageous people who act in spite of feelings of fear? We practice.
Do one small thing every day that makes you a little nervous. Build the fear-busting muscle.
